Important Notes

Getting Started

Starter Kit is shipped with prebuilt Linux Example on SD. Newest version and sources are available on our download area: TE0803 Reference Designs

1. Connect mains power and set power switch to on. See Main Power Enclosure Location

2. Connect mini USB cable to host PC. (Cable from XMOD on marker 25 of TEBF0808-REV2 Component Location picture, the one with green dot, closer to the SoM)
3. Insert SD-Card with pre-loaded content into SD-Card slot.
4. Open Serial Console:
   1. COM Port: for correct number see device manager
   2. Speed:115200
5. Press the Power on button on the enclosure. See Power Button, Reset Button, HDD LED and Power LED Enclosure Location
6. Linux login:
   
   1. User Name:root
   2. Password:root

Warning
Do not change XMOD DIP-Switch settings on TEBF0808. Do not swap the XMOD adapters, the one marked with a green dot must be closer to the SoM

ES devices are not included in all Vivado versions, for ES1 only: activate beta device see: FAQ - How can I activate beta devices?

For all Starter Kit's Kits shipped before 2017-06-21: Enclosure Power power and HD LED was swapped on connector. See "Starter Kit Cable Connection - Enclosure Power Button, Reset Button, HDD LED and LEDand Power LED" section for correct connection.

Default DIP Switch Settings

Note: with CPLD Firmware REV06 or newer, S4.4 can be set to OFF, to save power, if Starter Kit is powered off with Power Button.

SI5338 Programming

SI5338 NVM on the module is not programmed on factory, so modified FSBL is needed to get running output CLKS.

It is not possible to program NVM after device is soldered. More information to program SI5338 , see Si5338
