If you desire to use the TE USB FX2 module, you need to create/download:

• the firmware file (.iic) for USB FX2 microcontroller and EEPROM;
• the bitstream (image) file (.bit or .mcs or .bin) for FPGA and SPI Flash.

For the PROM file .mcs, you can create:

• Xilinx Flash .mcs file
• 3rd-party SPI Flash .mcs file.

The Flash used on TE USB FX2 module are 3rd-party SPI Flash, but you can also use Xilinx Flash .mcs file to program 3rd-party SPI Flash.
