Some reference designs include also a preconfigured PetaLinux project as template and related prebuilt files (Boot.bin and image.ub).

Console

Windows

• For Example Putty:
  • open Windows "Device Manager" to get correct COM port number

  • start console:

    • open putty
    • select Connection type: Serial
    • insert correct COM port:see "Device Manager"
    • insert correct speed: see Block Design configuration (most ZYNQ Designs use 115200, most MicroBlaze Designs use 9600)
    • Click "Open" 

Linux

• For Example Minicom:
  • Type: dmesg |grep tty to get correct COM port number
    • on Linux both (JTAG and UART ar listed), UART is on the second USB port (e.g. ttyUSB1)
  • start console:
    • sudo minicom -8 -b 115200 -D /dev/ttyUSB1
      • insert correct speed: see Block Design configuration (most ZYNQ Designs use 115200, most MicroBlaze Designs use 9600)
      • insert correct COM port:see "Device Manager"

Login

Newer Versions are without Login. Otherwise this designs use PetaLinux default username and password:
