An update boot (aka TE USB FX2 firmware update), for Generation 3 firmware, is a multi-step boot operation:

Cypress firmware update tools and OpenFutNet can read and write the EEPROM using:
1. 1. for example using CyControl (Cypress USB Control Center); or
  2. for example using CyConsole (Cypress USB Console); orfor example using OpenFutNet update boot.
  3. OpenFutNet or
  4. Open_FUT

For Generation 2 (not advised), it is possible to update the Generation 2 firmware using Open_FUT (gen 2) and Generation 2 driver.
