Products Affected

This change affects all Trenz Electronic TE0955 SoMs of revision 01: TE0955-01*.

Affected Product

Replacement
TE0955-01-EGBE32-ATE0955-02-EGBE32A

Changes

#1 Changed ETH PHY U3 from LAN8830 to LAN8840 to support TSN/PTP.

Type: BOM change
Reason: Add new features. New PHY supports TSN/PTP.
Impact: New features are available. Trenz reference design works without change.

#2 Added OSPI assembly option (R121, R198, R199) to use MIO12 as dedicated reset instead of ECS# (default).

Type: Schematic Change
Reason: Add option to have dedicated reset pin for OSPI. Useful when FSBL leaves OSPI in a different state than e.g. Linux expects.
Impact: PMC_MIO pin 12 is now default connected via R199 as dedicated OSPI reset (with pull-up resistor R166 )

#3 Added TPM (Trusted Platform Module) U37 with corresponding circuits.

Type: Schematic Change
Reason: Add new feature.
Impact: TPM 2.0 features available.

#4 Changed U14 from SLS32AIA010MLUSON10XTMA2 to SLS32AIA010MLUSON10XTMC1.

Type: BOM Change
Reason: Use chip with newest available firmware version.
Impact: None, features should be backwards compatible.

#5 Added note that U14, U15 will be removed in future.

Type: Documentation Change
Reason: Remove duplicate features in next revision, cost optimisation.
Impact: U14 and U15 will be no more available in future. Use TPM instead, see #3.

#6 Set R156 to assembled and connected to GTYP_AVCC_AUX rail instead of 1V8 rail. Removed patch including R156_NEW.

Type: Schematic Change
Reason: Resolve patch from REV01.
Impact: None.

#7 Corrected and updated silkscreen description of Connectors JM5 and JM6 to show also Andromeda connector naming W and X. Removed corresponding schematic notes.

Type: PCB Change (Silkscreen)
Reason: Unify connector naming across compatible platforms.
Impact: None.

#8 Moved serial sticker from bottom to top. Now placed on Ethernet PHY U3.

Type: PCB change
Reason: Improve production handling.
Impact: None, serial readable from TOP side of module.

#9 Removed unnecessary zero Ohm R159.

Type: Schematic Change
Reason: Optimisation.
Impact: None.

#10 Replaced 0402 resistor R157 by 0201 size version.

Type: PCB change
Reason: BOM optimisation.
Impact: None.

#11 Moved C52 and C74 away from PCB edge/tab.

Type: PCB change
Reason: Production yield optimisation.
Impact: None.

#12 Moved R14, R16, R19, R60, R64, R79, C19, C52, C186, C194, C196, C203, L11.

Type: PCB change
Reason: Make more space for clamp holder of Trenz ATS (Automatic Test System).
Impact: None.

#13 Replaced buffers U7, U10, U16, U25 from 74LVC2G07FZ4-7 to SN74LVC2G07DSF2

Type: Schematic Change
Reason: Old buffer was out of datasheet specification when VCC=1.8V and output pulled to a higher voltage. Due to BOM optimisation all similar buffers changed.
Impact: None.

#14 Added option for additional pull-ups (not fitted: R196, R197) on OM_I2C bus

Type: Schematic Change
Reason: Add assembly option if level shifter internal pull-ups are to weak.
Impact: None.

#15 Moved test points: TP7, TP9, TP13, TP16, TP20, TP21, TP27

Type: PCB Change
Reason: Result from other changes above.
Impact: Test points have different location on board.

Method of Identification

Revision number is printed on the top silkscreen of the module.

Production Shipment Schedule
