TE0790 Identification

TE0790 will be delivered in 2 different Variant, which differs only in FTDI EEPROM configuration for FT2232H FTDI device.

TE0790-xx FTDI is programmed with AMD/ Digilent License key to be usable with AMD Tool(Vivado, Vitis, Petalinux). Change to AMD/Trenz Licence Key is planned with next CPLD Update to CPLD Firmware Revision 02.
TE0790-xx-L FTDI has default configuration

TE0790 DIP configuration for stand alone power up

Programmer Power supply setting depends on connected carrier on J2 Pinheader. To check Programmer without connected FPGA Hardware set following dip settings before connecting USB

S2 DIP	Position	Description
1	ON	Normal mode
2	OFF	Must be in OFF state always.
3	OFF	Power VIO from pin header J2(CPLD Bank voltage)
4	ON	Power 3.3V from USB (Use USB supply stand alone or in case TE0790 J2-5 Pin is not supplied by carrier)

Identification Methods

Label

TE0790 with green dot sticker are factory programmed with AMD/Digilent Licence or AMD Trenz License.

Reliability of identification: Uncertain, in case sticker was removed.

Device Manager

FT2232H on TE0790 has two configurable ports which are default show as COM port.

TE0790 with AMD/Digilent or AMD/Trenz Licence shows normally only one COM Port TE0790 without Licence key two ports are shown.

Reliability of identification: Uncertain, in case FTDI was reprogrammed manually for one COM Port only or driver ignore FTDI configuration.

Part of the EEPROM content is visible with Microsoft USB viewer.

Product is identified as "Digilent USB Device" or "Trenz USB Device" Product Serial Number starts with "251633...." or "TE..."	Product is identified as "Dual RS232-HS" Product Serial Number is with "0x00"

Reliability of identification: Mostly certain

Vivado

TE0790 with Digilent/AMD Licence shows normally only one COM Port TE0790 without Licence key show two ports.

Serial Number

6 digit serial number of the module is located on the bottom side of the programmer, on the small sticker with QR Code.
